What should I include in my enquiry?

Where are you based?
Our address is Manor View, La Grande Route de St. Clement, St. Clement, Jersey, JE2 6QW.
Plumbing
Do you take on small plumbing repairs?
Yes. We handle domestic and commercial plumbing of every size, from replacing a tap washer or fixing a toilet to installing a complete new bathroom.
What should I do if a pipe bursts?
Turn off the water at the stopcock, switch off the boiler and any immersion heater, and keep away from any electrics the water has reached. Then telephone a plumber. See what to do while you wait.
Where is my stopcock usually found?
In most homes the internal stopcock is under the kitchen sink, close to where the water supply pipe enters the property. It can also be in a utility room, a downstairs cloakroom or under the stairs. Knowing where it is lets you turn off the water quickly if a pipe leaks.

Yes. For our commercial clients we carry out plumbing and heating work on contracts of all sizes. See commercial plumbing and heating.
Heating and boilers
Do you repair and maintain oil boilers?

Why are my radiators cold at the top?
Radiators that are warm at the bottom but cold at the top usually contain trapped air and may need bleeding. If the problem keeps returning, or the system pressure drops after bleeding, the system should be checked by a heating engineer.
Hot water cylinders
Are you a Heatrae Sadia service agency?
Yes. We are a service agency for Heatrae Sadia.
Do you replace hot water cylinders?
Yes. We install new hot water cylinders, including replacing old or failing ones. Contact us with details of your current cylinder and we will discuss the options.
How often should an unvented cylinder be serviced?
Manufacturers generally recommend that unvented (pressurised) hot water cylinders are serviced every year, because their safety controls need regular checking. Follow the instructions supplied with your cylinder.
What is the difference between a vented and an unvented cylinder?
A vented cylinder is fed by a cold water storage tank, usually in the loft, and relies on gravity for pressure. An unvented cylinder is fed directly from the mains, which gives higher water pressure, and has safety controls to manage that pressure.
Bathrooms and kitchens
Do you install complete bathrooms?
Yes. We install complete new bathrooms, from the pipework through to fitting the bath or shower, basin and toilet.
Do you install kitchens?
Yes. Kitchen and bathroom installation is part of our service. Contact us to discuss the scope of your project.
What should I have ready before asking for a quotation?
It helps to know the approximate size of the room, what you would like to change, and whether you have already chosen your fixtures and fittings.
Legionella
What is a legionella risk assessment?
A legionella risk assessment looks at your hot and cold water systems to identify where legionella bacteria could grow and spread, and sets out the measures needed to control that risk.
Who needs to manage legionella risk?
Under the Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989, employers and people in control of premises have general duties to protect the health and safety of others, which include controlling the risk from legionella. Landlords should also consider the risk to their tenants. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, contact us to discuss your property.
How often should a legionella risk assessment be reviewed?
There is no single fixed interval. A risk assessment should be reviewed regularly, and whenever there is reason to think it is no longer valid, for example after changes to the water system, to how the building is used or to the people using it.
What legionella services do you provide?
We provide risk assessments, cleaning and disinfection, hot and cold water system monitoring, and sampling, together with remedial work to control the risks identified.
